Get to Know Bud’s Warehouse

Did you know that every time you shop or donate at Bud’s Warehouse you’re directly helping the community? It’s true! Bud’s is a non-profit job-training program funded by sales of new and lightly used building materials donated to the organization. Our mission is to employ and job-train individuals rebuilding lives from prison, addictions and homelessness through our career and life-skill development program.

Bud’s Warehouse recycles and sells usable building materials to the public. Bud’s offers kitchen cabinets, appliances, carpet, hardware, light fixtures, windows, doors, bathtubs, sinks, cabinet doors, furniture, and many other building materials, all donated by Denver-area home owners, builders, re-modelers, and suppliers.

All of our program employees at Bud’s Warehouse are facing significant barriers to finding work, including criminal backgrounds, substance abuse or unstable housing situations. Bud’s employees receive vocational and soft-skills trainings while on the job for six months to a year and then after successfully completing the program transition to employment in the community.

Besides supporting employment and job training, extra revenues from Bud’s Warehouse go to the creation of new ventures that employ individuals rebuilding lives. Through Belay Enterprises, Bud’s has been instrumental in the creation and incubation of several other faith venture businesses including Second Chances Thrift Store, Freedom Cleaning Services, Good Neighbor Garage and most recently New Beginnings Custom Woodwork.

For more information or to donate tax deductible building supplies, call (303) 296-3990. Bud’s Warehouse is open Monday though Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Recycle Paint at Bud’s

Since the very beginning, Bud’s Warehouse has been a great place to donate paint for reuse. Bud’s accepts all unopened paint and any amount of white paint as donation, but we have never been able to accept opened containers of paint until now (learn more about donating paint and other materials here). Today we are very excited to announce a new relationship with local paint recyclers Paint Genius that will allow Bud’s to accept any latex paint for recycling!

Recycled paint reconditioned and ready for reuse!

For only $2/ gallon, you can drop off latex paints in their original containers that will be reconditioned and reused. As we’ve previously posted, some of the paint will even be remixed and brought back to Bud’s! Keep your old paint out of the landfill and bring it to Bud’s Warehouse.

Bud’s Warehouse recycles and sells to the public usable building materials not accepted by regular thrift stores.  Area home owners, builders, re-modelers, and suppliers seeking to keep new and used home improvement materials out of the landfill support the organization. Bud’s offers kitchen cabinets, appliances, carpet, hardware, light fixtures, windows, bathtubs, sinks, furniture, and many other building materials.

For more information or to donate tax deductible building supplies, call (303) 296-3990. Bud’s Warehouse is open Monday though Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.

The Mission Behind Bud’s

Bud’s Warehouse has been Denver’s Home improvement thrift store since 1995. The warehouse offers an ever-changing selection of new and used doors, windows, cabinets and more at prices up to 70% off retail. With new products and customers coming and going every day it’s easy to miss out on the big picture at Bud’s.

Aside from diverting items from the landfill and offering great deals on building supplies, the staff at Bud’s work hard to create employment opportunities for people rebuilding lives from prison, addictions and homelessness.

As a program of Belay Enterprises, Bud’s hires and trains individuals who are unable to find employment due to significant barriers from the job market. Employees stay with Bud’s for 6-12 months and receive classroom and on-the-job training during their tenure. By the time someone leaves Bud’s for another job in the community, they have trained in areas including computers, personal finances, sales, customer service, received their forklift certification and much more.

Donating and shopping at Bud’s Warehouse directly funds the job-training program and helps create other employment opportunities such as New Beginnings Custom Woodworking and the Good Neighbor Garage.

Next time you shop at Bud’s Warehouse you can feel good knowing the great deal you found also helped support someone who is embarking on a new direction in life. You can support Bud’s by donating too, find out more here.

A New Donation Truck for Bud’s!

Bud's staff with our awesome new truck!

If you follow Bud’s Warehouse on Facebook or Twitter you know the story of our broken truck and subsequent fundraiser. Through the generosity of many donors, we are so happy to introduce everyone to our new donation pickup truck, complete with red stakes!

Everyday Bud’s Warehouse sends a truck around Denver to pick up new and used doors, windows, cabinets and more from local homeowners and businesses. Our truck is our connection to the community for the majority of product that comes into the warehouse. The items our truck picks up allow us to offer amazing deals on home improvement items to the community and help us succeed at our mission of employing and job training people who are rebuilding lives.

Want us to send our truck to your home or business? Read more about items we can accept for donation here. To schedule a pickup with our great new truck give us a call at (303) 296-3990. Bud’s Warehouse is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
